Non-Healing Wounds

  • Including Diabetic Foot Ulcers, Peri-anal Fistulas, other Skin Ulcers and Wounds

Sudden Hearing Loss

  • Called Idiopathic Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (ISSHL) or 'Sudden Deafness'

Delayed Radiation Injury

Osteomyelitis

  • Infections of the bone with or without a non-healing skin wound

Compromised Skin Grafts and Flaps

  • Following reconstructive or plastic surgery

Acute Arterial Ischemia 

  • Includes cosmetic filler injection, central retinal artery occlusion, and crush injury

Burn Injuries

  • From excessive thermal damage

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is also covered by OHIP for the following indications which are less frequently treated in an outpatient setting.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) Poisoning

 

Critical Anemia

 

Decompression Sickness (“The Bends”)​

 

Gas Gangrene (Clostridial Myonecrosis)

Intracranial Abscess (Brain Infections)

 

Necrotizing Soft Tissue Infections
